The Artist: The architecture serves not only as a backdrop to support the artist’s activity but attempts to complement the artist’s personal expression through simple, elemental forms. The richness of artistic activity, artwork, antique furniture and landscaping play off the simplicity of the walls treated with plain finishes and contemporary detailing.

Adaptability: Filled with evenly diffused, natural light, the studio is designed to be versatile, serving as a private workspace for painting on walls and floor, as a gallery exhibiting artwork, and as a performance space for shared music and dance.

Customized Tools: The building is organized around a two-story high painting studio that features unique solutions for the artist, including large sliding panels for storage and display of paintings; mobile flat files for paper storage and countertop working surfaces; open floor decking spanning inside to outside for wet processes; and a mixing counter with a sink, brush rack and shelves for paint storage.
