EIGHTH DISTRICT CONSTITUENT SERVICES CENTER

Paul was a member of the Environmental Design Group organized by the City of Los Angeles Environmental Affairs Department to advise on the selection and design of environmentally sensitive building features such as low toxic and recycled building materials, energy efficient equipment and envelope assembly, water conservation and reclamation, and solar assisted water heating.

The 20,000 square foot structure replaces a building in south central Los Angeles destroyed during the April 1992 civic disturbance, and serves as a pilot project integrating private and public sector resources dedicated to environmental design guidance, in this case, for a modestly budgeted office building. Paul received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Los Angeles City Council for his contributions to the project. An outgrowth of this project was the City Council’s creation of the Citywide Sustainable Building Taskforce.
