SANTA MONICA CIVIC CENTER SUSTAINABLE DESIGN CHARETTE

Paul represented both the American Institute of Architects and the Eco-Cities Council, the organizers of the environmental design charette, in this three day assessment of the city’s master plan for the redevelopment of its 45 acre City Hall/Civic Center area.

The charette’s goal was to suggest innovative sustainable design strategies to help create a Civic Center which recognizes the needs of major private property owners, significant public institutions, transportation, public open space, human and local natural resources in this large, complex mixed-use section of the city two blocks from the ocean.
