WONG TANG RESIDENCE AND STUDIO

PMA was Executive Architect of a new $1.0 million, 5500 SF residence and studio for a painter in Santa Monica. The two story building is organized around a double height studio volume within a system of wall planes that serve as canvases for work or display.

Cross walls of metal grids display panels of glass on copper made by the owner. The roof canopy provides skylights over the studio for controlled natural lighting. The building's simplicity reflects the owner's artistic inclination.
