 LAX Automated People Mover

Los Angeles World Airports is currently engaged in the largest public works project in the history of Los Angeles, including a new automated people mover (APM) that will dramatically ease traffic by changing how customers enter and exit LAX airport. The APM, a monorail-like system, will operate along a 2.25-mile elevated guideway with six stops between a new LAX Consolidated Rental Car Facility and the Central Terminal Area. In addition to reducing traffic, the APM will leverage cutting-edge sustainability practices to reduce the airport area’s carbon footprint.

Serving as an architectural advisor to the winning LINXS Integrated Express Solutions public-private partnership team for the APM, the firm provided aesthetic guidance for architecture and urban design, graphic design and visualization of the proposed user experience and architecture that includes stations, inter-modal facilities, public open spaces and so-called WOW features that will animate the LAX customer experience through this prominent Los Angeles gateway.
